Oh… news you’ve been waiting for!

Yesterday, the national Indivisible representatives, announced that our next nationwide mass mobilization is going to be Saturday, June 14th!! “On June 14—Flag Day—Donald Trump wants tanks in the street and a made-for-TV display of dominance for his birthday. A spectacle meant to look like strength. But real power isn’t staged in Washington. It rises up everywhere else.”

On April 5th the nationwide theme was “Hands Off” well, wait for it, this theme is NO KINGS - We rise up and say “No Kings”!! Multiple organizations will be joining together to get as many “boots on the ground” on this day as possible. Remember the 3 1/2 % rule… 14M are needed… can we triple the number from April 5th… we have time, we have motivation, now we just have to put in the work!!

Now that the excitement of that announcement has sunk in, the reality in Springfield is that June 14th is our annual PRIDE event at the downtown square. This puts us between a rock and hard place! But we have been in contact with the PRIDE COMMITTEE and have already discussed possible solutions. The multiple area groups will be coming together to discuss options and plans. This is the longest lead time we have had yet, we are going to make it good!!
